Présentation générale
The High Council of Public Finance (HCFP) is responsible for assessing the realism of the government's macroeconomic, public revenues and expenditures forecasts, verifying compliance with general government expenditure targets in relation to the multi-year guidelines set out in the public finance programming law, and checking that the path to balanced public finances is consistent with France's European commitments.

Independent of the Government and the Parliament, it is attached to the Cour des Comptes and chaired by the Cour des comptes First President.
